August 8 - Mississauga
August 9 - London
August 10 - Windsor

News from Ray: August 11, 2005

The weather has been extremely hot and humid. Everything is going well. We did 225 km's on Monday to Mississauga, 190 km's to London, I blew two tires and broke my flashing light off the bike on a major pothole just east of Paris. (I had always told Dianne that I'd get her to Paris one day) but I was back on the road in about a half hour. Yesterday was 195 km's into Windsor and we hit two huge downpours but they did feel great. It was nice to cool off but as soon as the sun came back out, it was even more humid. Here in Windsor now and resting up a bit for the competition. We're just doing some rollerblading to keep my legs going. Cramping up in the heat has been a bit of a problem but it seems to be getting better now.
Talk to everyone soon!

August 16 - Waterspout on Lake Michigan

News from Ray: August 16, 2005

Hi Guys

I'm in Madison Wisconsin tonight. Very tired but going strong. The heat has been intense but the humidity is down now so it is a little easier to take. The people have been fantastic and very friendly along the way. The scenery has pretty much been corn and more corn fields. Milwaukee was beautiful today. I was lucky to see a large waterspout this morning on Lake Michigan, I hope the picture shows it. Maybe it can be blown up a bit. Over 1,300 km's so far and a long day tomorrow of about 220 km's to LaCrosse. Take care and I'll talk to you soon. Thanks for the well wishes, it's great for morale when things are tough.
