The Firefighter Combat Challenge:

The Firefighter Combat Challenge was born in Maryland U.S.A. in July of 1974. It was used as a fitness test for firefighters. Since then, it has been nicknamed the "Toughest Two Minutes in Sports". The challenge is now seen and enjoyed by millions of people across North America in person and television.

The challenge consists of five evolutions and must be done with full bunker gear and a Scott Air Pack. The first evolution is a five story stair climb while carrying a 42 lb hose pack and depositing it in a bin at the top of the stairs.

The second evolution is to hoist a 42 lb hose pack up to the top of the tower with a 5/8"rope and run back down the stairs.

The third evolution is to hop onto the Keiser Machine and hit a 165 lb steel beam 5 feet with a 9lb shot mallet.

The fourth evolution is to run 145 feet through a series of pylons and then pick up a charged 11/2" hose and drag it 75 feet opening the nozzle and hitting a target.

The last evolution is to run over to a 175 lb Rescue Randy mannequin and drag it backwards for 100' to the finishline.
